What to Expect
Come as you’re most comfortable, anything from sweatpants to suit coats! Park up front if you’re a first time guest, or in the larger lot in the back if you need a wheelchair-accessible entrance. We will welcome you and offer you some coffee and snacks, and there will be no shortage of people who are glad to see you and happy to talk.
We’ll move into the sanctuary at 10:10 (or shortly after) for our worship service, which lasts about an hour and a half. We’re usually done between 11:30 and 11:45. During the worship service we will sing songs, pray for each other, pray for needs in town and around the world, and have a sermon that applies the Bible to life today. You are welcome to join in all of this right away, or just sit back and observe! If you stay to talk after the service, someone will probably invite you to lunch!

Regular Events:
1st Sundays of the Month – Bread Together Sunday. This is when we receive the Lord’s Supper (a.k.a. communion or eucharist) and have a church potluck after the worship service! The Lord’s Supper is bread and wine (we use grape juice, and have gluten-free bread available) that represents the body and blood of Jesus as he died to save us and rose from the dead three days later! We don’t require you to be a member of our church, but we do ask that you only receive communion if you are a Christian who has put your faith in Jesus (your decision, we won’t quiz you). Anyone is welcome for the potluck whether you brought food or not, we’ll make sure no one leaves hungry!
5th Sundays of the Month – Brunch Sunday! This will be a casual worship service around tables in our Fellowship Hall, with time for sharing songs, questions, and thoughts, without a regular sermon. Food will be provided, and you can eat and worship at the same time!
Wednesdays – During the fall, winter, and spring, we usually have a discipleship group that meets to eat together (most often people bring food to share, but we have some backup pizzas in the freezer), and then watch and discuss a video curriculum. While these are best for long-term growth, everything is introduced in a way that a first-time guest can have a good idea what’s going on, and Wednesdays are a great way to get to know people without the pressure of a full worship service. During the summer, we usually meet outside for a fire pit and potluck! If you have a lawn chair you really like, feel free to bring it!
Easter – The date changes every year (it’s a long and interesting story), but what we celebrate doesn’t change! This is our day to celebrate the most important weekend in history, when Jesus died for our sins and then rose from the grave! We’ll put a little more festivity to our worship, some of us dress a little nicer, but we’re just as committed to welcoming whoever wants to hear the best news ever!
July (usually 3rd Thursday) – Block Party! We invite the neighborhood to our lawn for a summer cookout with lawn games, hot dogs, and music.
October (usually the last Sunday) – Small Church Sunday! We think being a small church is awesome (though we also love the big churches in the family!), and we want to invite people to be part of it! Small Church Sunday is our way of celebrating that by doing a normal church service where we pay extra attention to everything making sense to a newcomer, plus a big pancake lunch after the worship service!
Christmas – We spend all December getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus, and we’re used to all sorts of family, friends, and strangers showing up! We typically have a Christmas Eve service at around 5pm that will be simple, kid-friendly, and Jesus-focused.
